Crystal Renfro: Executive Director, Kentucky Association of Conservation Districts

Ms. Crystal Renfro joined the Kentucky Association of Conservation Districts in 2018 as the first Executive Director for the Association, with over 18 years of experience in working directly with Kentucky’s Conservation Districts and helping to improve and conserve natural resources across the Commonwealth.

Her love for the land started in High School when she was on the National Champion FFA Land Judging Team from Madison Central High School in Richmond, KY, and carried on through college, where she attended Eastern Kentucky University, receiving a BS Degree in Agriculture with an emphasis in Soil Science.

Prior to working with KACD, Crystal worked for the Madison County Conservation District as a Soil Conservation Technician, then moved on to the Kentucky Division of Conservation, where she served as a Field Representative for 15 Central Kentucky Counties and helped manage the Kentucky Conservation State Cost Share Program. For the last six years, she has worked at the Estill County Conservation District as their Program Manager, running the day-to-day activities that come along with a District. Crystal prides herself in knowing all levels of conservation work, from surveying practices in the field to working hand and hand with local and state government for the betterment of the Districts and the Commonwealth.

She truly loves the grassroots aspect of Conservation Districts and has an overall goal of helping people help the land.
